Popular game studio Bethesda has announced that there will no longer be mod support for its PlayStation 4 titles a few days ago. Unfortunately, it seems Sony has informed the company that they will not be approving user mods in the way they “should work,” where users have free reign over what they can create for Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.
“After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition”, Bethesda tells us. “Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive.”
Of course, people are now pissed as fuck. They bought those games because they thought that there would be mods available for both Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition – and maybe even more titles in the near and far future. Especially YouTubers like Jim Sterling, Steven “Boogie2988” Williams, and the guys over at The Know express their anger in their latest videos.
