The most popular musical phenomenon in Germany right now is… hip hop. Forget literature, art or electronic stutter, hip hop really moves young people in the country. When it comes to the voluble underground music genre, its development proves that Germany’s pop culture is moving fast. Hip hop collective Azzlack which represents a bunch of diverse rappers located in Offenbach, part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area, invited their fans to cherish line after line at a new hip hop festival called All Area. People from all over the place came around to see artists like 187 Strassenbande, Nimo, Olexesh, Celo & Abdi, and Coup, the collaboration of rappers Haftbefehl and Xatar.
Fans were dressed strikingly true to the style of the scene. Inspired by American hip hop street wear, Germany’s youth loves to wear brands such as Adidas, Nike, or Puma in their very own way. The former historical building Kommune2010 turned into an arena of masculinity, soccer, and, last but not least, music, where people relaxed and peacefully enjoyed a sunny festival day.
