You may know Amuse as one of those numerous VICE sub-sites, like Motherboard, i-D or Broadly, where no one really knows what’s the difference between any of those, but, hey, they made a party, right here in New York City, and while I can’t speak for you guys, I won’t complain about that. Because a party’s a party. Even if it’s one of those parties.
The event took place at the SIXTY Lower East Side’s rooftop bar, Tiki Tabu. The party consisted of a DJ set by Mia Moretti, while folks included Theophilus London, who did a surprise performance, models Jason Santore, Paloma Elsesser, Naomi Shimada, John Tuite, Emily Rappe, Matthew Foley, Roze Traore, and R&B artists NADER, Liana Bank$, and Gabrielle Ross celebrated. And there was a poolside VIP screening of “Take Three,” a romantic drama starring Allison Lanier and Wesley Davis by director Ismail Shallis.
“The boutique hotel is already like a film set, a perfectly crafted environment that will trigger our imaginations and desires,” Ismail said. “However, I find that amenities, furnishings, and location are only half the picture. The reasons I would choose one hotel over another relate just as much to feeling and emotion. We set out to tell a cute love story with a twist, set over 24 hours in the greatest city on earth, using Sixty’s NY properties as a backdrop. It’s simple and dreamy and yet not quite what you expect!”
So, why did the people over at Amuse give a party? They launched the first of their Amuse Residencies series on their website. I don’t really know what that is, but maybe you should watch or read or love it. Whatever you usually do to or with online articles. And now excuse me please, I will put my head into a huge bowl of ramen noodle soup and get back to the real world on Friday afternoon. Bye.
