Okay, so, that’s one of the biggest questions of our time: What will the future be like thanks to technology? Are those bits and bytes our savior, our hope for a better life, our only chance to survive? Or is technology going to form a colorful hell where huge companies directed us into a wrong direction? In his short film “Hyper Reality,” Keiichi Matsuda gives us a vision of the future.
“Our physical and virtual realities are becoming increasingly intertwined,” Keiichi tells us. “Technologies such as VR, augmented reality, wearables, and the internet of things are pointing to a world where technology will envelop every aspect of our lives. It will be the glue between every interaction and experience, offering amazing possibilities, while also controlling the way we understand the world. Hyper-Reality attempts to explore this exciting but dangerous trajectory.”
“Hyper Reality” was crowdfunded and shot in Medellín in Colombia. The short film gives us a glimpse into our own future where technology rules our lives, our careers, and our way of consuming things. Are companies like Facebook, Google and Apple driving us into an augmented reality future that looks and sounds like hell? We will see for ourselves. Soon.
