Emilia Clarke has said she is “proud” of her nude scene in the finale to this week’s “Game of Thrones” episode. In the fourth episode of season six, Daenarys Targaryen – with the leaders of all the Dothraki hoards surrounding, her deciding her fate – escaped by literally burning the house down in a shocking scene that showed her fireproof power as her clothes were singed off.
After seeing the sequence cut together a couple months ago, showrunner David Benioff tells us: “Emilia absolutely crushed it. It’s one of those weird scenes because it was half shot in Spain, half in Belfast. But largely due to her performance, it works brilliantly.” And the fiery scene may be something passionate fans around the world have eagerly waited for.
But before any assumptions are made about Emilia’s participation in the scene, there’s something she wants everyone to know. “I’d like to remind people the last time I took my clothes off was season 3,” she says. “That was awhile ago. It’s now season 6. But this is all me, all proud, all strong. I’m just feeling genuinely happy I said ‘Yes.’ That ain’t no body double!” And that’s totally fine with us.
