If you don’t know what the Eurovision Song Contest is, you missed out big times. It’s the old continent’s biggest yearly music event where countries from all over the place send their best (or sometimes even worst) musicians, artists, and bands to an epic politically heated contest. North versus South and West versus East. Okay, mostly West versus East. Because history.
This year’s competition is truly hard. Hovi Star from Israel tries to win the contest with his song “Made of Stars”, Laura Tesoro from Belgium wants to dance the competition with her track “What’s The Pressure” away and Australia, apparently the latest nation added to Europe, sent Dami Im to this year’s venue Stockholm, a cool singer who wants to succeed with her anthem “Sound Of Silence.”
But we already know the winner of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. No doubt: Germany will once again get the trophy with the 18-year-old wunderkind, manga fan, and animal rights activist Jamie-Lee Kriewitz and her song “Ghost”, a heartbreaking pop ballad about love and what happens when it finds an early end. You can watch the Eurovision Song Contest final here on Saturday.
