Today’s music industry is broken. The world celebrates psychologically challenged characters like Kanye West, boring momma’s boys like Drake and manic-depressive and dazzling personalities like Lady Gaga. Or even worse: Replaceable disc jockeys who only have to press one button and get swamped with money in return. Desperation took hold. Until now. Because our (next) savior is here.
20-year-old Dua Lipa from London always wanted to become a singer. In 2012, she quietly released her first demo on SoundCloud. At the time, she was only 17, but her voice already sounded like your uncle when he smoked 20 cigarettes in a row while drinking more whiskey than he should. Once again. Last summer Dua Lipa released her debut single called New Love.
The thing is: Everyone tells us “This is the new superstar, bla bla” all the time. But I really hope Dua Lipa is here to stay. I really want her to become 2016’s next huge voice. And I really can’t wait to see her live. Soon. Follow Dua Lipa here on Instagram and here on Twitter and here on YouTube and tell her how much you love her. Don’t spend your love on your girlfriend, spend it on Dua Lipa!
