After Grimes dropped her music video for her two new tracks Flesh Without Blood and Life In The Vivid Dream yesterday, today Danish wunderkind MØ released her visual tale for her latest song Kamikaze. Shot in Ukraine, the clip shows the singer riding through the streets, with numerous dance breaks, fires and car stunts thrown in for good measure.
“’Kamikaze’ is a happy party song, but at the same time also about being lost and restless,” MØ tells us about her new track. “What I really like about this video is that it embraces both those aspects: the party vibe – the friendships and the happiness – but also the darkness, the craziness and the doom. And it’s not just the song that has that duality, it’s very much who I am.”
I really like the song, it’s been on my favourite tracks list on Spotify for a couple of days now – and I’m always happy when it randomly comes up. MØ knows how to make modern pop music, without getting boring, cheesy and redundant. That’s why I appreciate her. Let’s see, how far she gets in this strange business. Kamikaze is a good step forward – for sure.
