Although I have absolutely no idea what’s going on here, I try to explain those two videos, dropped by famous Japanese idol group Dempagumi.inc, called “Chouzetsu Ultra☆HappyDays” and “Gidagida da Zubuzubu da”. A couple of cute girls in orange uniforms save the earth from an asteroid by eating pudding and becoming giants, shooting laser beams out of their eyes.
The girls’ names are Risachii, Mirin-chan, Nemukyun, Eitaso, Gaamoo and Pinky – and every single one of them resembles a certain color, like mint green, purple and yellow. The two songs on the other hand are part of a campaign for a new Ultraman-themed pachinko machine called Ultra Battle Retsuden. That’s quite nerdy, right?
Dempagumi.inc, formed in 2008, is based in Akihabara, the same legendary district in Tokyo, where AKB48, the biggest girl group in the whole wide world, came from.
